Leading the team is Paul Kanthambi who is the Managing Director. Paul holds a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Computer Science & Statistics. He also holds an MBA.

He started his working career with ICL (Malawi) Limited in 1996 where he worked as Software Support Manager and later as Branch Manager. He then joined NBS Bank (then known as New Building Society) in 2001 as Manager – Systems Administration. He took up the role of Head of ICT in 2010.

Paul was a key resource in the transformation of NBS from a building society to a commercial bank. He was involved in several major projects at NBS including implementation of the bank’s first real-time online core banking system, Globus G12; later upgrading it to T24 R08 and subsequently upgrading to T24 R14.

He was also involved in the implementation of an in-house ATM switch platform; RTGS; electronic cheque clearing system; SWIFT; mobile banking system; VISA credit and debit card system, national switch, just to mention a few.
He has vast experience in project management, systems implementation, systems integration, systems administration and general IT management.
